  • *sigh* A lot of first ladies (including Michelle Obama) have done some really great things with their lives. Just because they aren't POTUS doesn't mean they aren't incredible women or aren't special. In fact, I think a lot of these women end up working harder than many of us could possibly imagine and have dealt with more than many of us ever could. They're supporting their husband's career and he has one of the most stressful and difficult jobs on the planet, these women deserve our respect, even if you don't care for her husbands policies. Unless you think YOU can do what they do. I'm not a big fan of Obama, and I can't stand Dubya, but their wives have gone through so much crap that I truly believe they at least deserve my respect.

  • Shouldn't YOU be your young daughter's role model?!

    ****

Are you just looking to pick fights? Who said she wasn't? Who says a child can only have one role model?

  • "My experiences at Princeton have made me far more aware of my 'blackness' than ever before," the future Mrs. Obama wrote in her thesis introduction. "I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don't belong. Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second."

How would you feel if you were the only white person in a black school? I don't think there is anything wrong with the fact she felt this way. There might be truth to her thesis...being one of the few blacks at Princeton, she probably did just feel like a visitor at times. I admire her honesty...

obviously.."wife and mother, and strong". she's got the best arms ever sculpted by a FLOTUS! and she does "inspire" me to work my triceps/biceps and delts.
