Toddler not eating very well...

Ok my dd has had a cold, but she seems to be better then she was. She still has a slight cough (vicks on the feet helped alot thank u!!!), but she isn't really eating, just picking. She isn't even eating her fav cookie, a vanilla wafer! I do know this is somewhat common that toddlers go thru phases like this, but how long dos it go on? Its been been like 3 days now.

  • is she at least drinking? it's most important that she drink lots of fluids. You can also try a carnation instant breakfast shake..it's filled with lots of nutrients!

  • Pediasure for the moment but she might just be trying to get her appetite back slowly.

  • I would worry too much as long as she is drinking plenty.

  • As long as she drinks plenty you are okay. You might also try soup. I buy canned soup and drain it so that your little one gets all the good stuff. DD likes chicken noodle and minestrone. I hope that helps.

  • i wouldn't worry unless she stops drinking, and remember, "drinks" like carnation will also "fill her up" a bit, so she may not be as hungry if she is drinking lots of those

  • Don't worry about her eating. She needs to continue getting fluids though. You could also try pushing liquidy foods, like applesauce or soup, but don't worry about her appetite.

  • So long as she's staying hydrated, I wouldn't worry about her eating. If there are problems once the cold is gone, take her to her pediatrician.

  • She won't starve herself. Just keep her hydrated and keep introducing the food. When she's ready shell gobble it.
