What can I give my daughter to drink besides milk that will give her what she needs?

My daughter has always had problems going poop every since she has been born. Her doctor has put it off and and it is getting worse. She will scream at top of her lungs but be in a coma state. Her lips will turn blue from where she is holding her breathe. Doctor finally decided she had a problem when Mira-lax wasn't working. She was pushing so hard that I was afraid she would give herself a hernia. I was noticing blood in her stool and with me having some EMS training I know that wasn't right. Doctor got her appt. with a specialist but still haven't seen him yet and her doctor schedule that over 3 months ago. So I gave up and stopped giving her milk and she now has no problems going to the bathroom at all. What can I give her to give her what she needs in milk other than milk? I have even tried the pedi-sure and that even gives her problems too. Can you help me?

  • Cow breast milk is for baby cows, not for humans. She isn't getting anything she needs from it, her nutrients should be coming from fresh fruits & veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, she doesn't need anything but water to drink.

  • skip the milk all together. my 2 and 3 year olds are the same way, and were since birth... we have gone to a lactose free home... almond, rice, coconut milks (sometimes soy if we are hard pressed)... lactose free formula (not soy though)... etc. they are doing better the older they get (with things like a bit of cheese or yogurt) but we still don't have it in the house (they get some at gmas house, but very very limited... say 2 tbs of yogurt or a 1/4 size of american cheese)...

  • How old is she? I don't think she needs dairy if that's causing the problem. She just need calcium and vitamin D so you should ask your doctor which vitamins she should take.
