Do you think its right that he wants to keep them? The state he lives in says he can keep them.

  • Havent heard about that. Is he on disability? That is the only way I could see he would even still qualify.

  • Yea the system really works doesn't it, my neighbor whose husband just lost his job can't on assistance but he gets to keep it.

  • How much did he win? Not that people should waste money on lottery tickets if they can't buy food. But if he only won say $100, then he'd probably still be eligible.

  • yup...he is within the "law". The state of MI considers his winnings "liquid" assets and that has no bearing on public assistance. It's very sad that they allow this....they should re-write the law. I must admit though...it made me chuckle. The system is not surprisingly STUPID!!!
