Democrats accuse refiners of 'potential price fixing'

Link text

I'm not even sure what they are accusing them of.   Cutting back on stockpiles?   You either have one or you don't. Do they think they are dumping it or hiding it somewhere?  Where do you stand?

  • I think democrats are clueless on the oil industry (as they are on business in general) and are just trying to play politics.

  • What? This makes no sense. It does make sense for stockpiles to be lower when the price of oil is higher. You don't stockpile when it is more stockpile when you can get the goods more cheaply. Good Lord, do we have a single democrat that has EVER owned a business?

What about the govt stockpile..the reserves? They could have opened those up and pushed prices down. I suppose they are price fixers too. Off with their heads!

  • I wouldn't say it's only dems, but in this instance, yes it's the dems. Way too many people in general are clueless about how that particular industry works.

  • This is a way for this administration to make the dumb citizens of America to be satisfied that PBO and the DOJ did something about the price of fuel. Do you think they will ever understand that most of us realize that supply and demand, production costs, transportation costs, manufacturing cost, taxes, and much more drives the price. They need to go after the idiots who first decided that America shouldn't be self-sufficient. Get them to explain why the gov't extorts money from companies in the form of fees paid for permits and then refuse to let the companies use those permits. Why the gov't thinks that is a better economic plan than letting the American people do what they do best - work.
