  • When we get low like that we hit the dollar tree. Spaghetti and cereal for a few sucks but its better than going hungry

  • Google a food bank in your area.
    If nothing else:
eggs, rice, dry deans, frozen veggies, pasta and sauce and ramen noodles could keep you going for a while. Also try contacting DFCS to see if they have any options. Also call 211 for united way they have the numbers of all the local help agencies.

  • noodles/pasta always goes a long way, you could just do them plain with butter and seasonings.

rice goes a long way too. rice with a canned soup if you have any or broth.

  • You have the option of going to a food bank. But to make the $11 stretch........dozen eggs (1.50), jar peanut butter (1.50) Bread (1.50), box rice (1.00), Aldi has 1lb rolls of ground turkey for $1, 2 of those ($2.00), couple cans of veggies ($1) Scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast, peanut butter sandwhiches for lunch, turkey burgers w/ gravy over rice w/ a veggie for supper one night......... mix rice, crumbled ground turkey and either corn or beans (with spices) for a mexican style dish the next night. If all else fails, there's always Ramen noodles, with canned or frozen veggies stirred in.......... won't hurt for just a couple of days.

  • I agree, go to your local food pantry or dept of social services for food stamps. No shame in that, we've all had to do it before! Good luck, momma!
