What do you buy your kids for gifts on an special occasion clothes/shoes ,toys/electronics or money?

I always believed in not buying them clothes because I feel like thats what you are supposed to do any way except for a special outfit for that day or a really expensive piece that I normally wouldn't spend money on . I always give money or something else besides clothes unless the kid absolutely need them. What do you think?

  • Clothes, books, toys. Never money, I put part of every paycheck into her savings account anyway.

  • For older nieces and nephews a gift card to their favorite store. For my dd she will be 3 in July and we try to buy her educational toys that encourage creativity and learning. We rarely buy her clothes as a gift because like you said we feel like that is our job.
