  • I haven't given mine immodium... I always used the BRAT diet (Bananas, Apples, Rice, and Toast). As for the sore bottom, you can mix liquid anti-acid (maylox or storebrand, doesn't matter) with your diaper cream and slather it all over her diaper area. It is quite a mess, but it works. The reason is that the liquid anti-acid neutralizes the acid in the stool on contact and your diaper cream protects her skin. My son used to get bleeding diaper rashes all the time (very sensitive skin) and this cleared it up. I hope that works for your little one!

  • No, do not give it! Call your doctor's after hours line or go to an urgent care clinic. Little kids can get dehydrated very easily. If she has diarrhea because of a bacterial infection, immodium will only make it worse! Do not give pepto either! Please, call the doctor and protect her bottom with some vaseline, aquaphor. lanolin, or diaper rash cream!

  • I would never give immodium to a child or take it myself for that matter. Do coat her bottom with something like vaseline or diaper rash ointment. You may want to try acidophillus or yogurt with active cultures to slow things down.  Bananas and pasta can help too.
