Is preschool mandatory in your state? country?

  • No but it is recommended. By the time kids enter Kinder they expect them to know how to spell their names, count to certain numbers, know their abc's and be able to stay in the classroom without crying when mom leaves.

  • No. There isn't actually anywhere in the nation that schooling before Kindergarten is 'mandatory'.

  • No, in fact here if you make more than $50K there is no way your kid is getting into head start. The only other option is Christian preschool that can be pretty pricey.

  • Nope, preschool is not mandatory anywhere in the United States. It is recommended though. Kindergarten is only mandatory in 15 states, but again, it is highly recommended.

  • Nope. Kindergarten isn't even mandatory here. As long as students are registered in school or home-schooled by 8 years of age, it's all good... In fact I just read an article about holding off on school of ANY kind til 7 or 8 years and the benefits of doing so...
