  • Because we are attached to that person. It's our ego that makes us sad when they die..WE miss them, WE won't be having them around anymore. We're not thinking about them & how happy they are in heaven....we're thinking that we'll never see our loves one again...which is sad.

  • They are still going to miss not getting to see them, wether they are in a better place or not.

  • First of all, I don't believe that.

Second, they're mourning not being able to see, talk to, spend time wit, etc. that person.

  • it's not that they are sad because they are supposedly going to a better place, they are sad because they miss the person that has died.

  • They are going to a bteer place, yes, but that does not take the sadness away of not having them here on earth with you and not ever being able to have a converstation with them or see them again.

  • Life is a gift. When that life is taken away from the people who love them, it's a sad thing. Just like when you go on vacation - your kids will still miss you, be sad, and possibly even cry - even though they know you're coming back.

To not cry at the loss of life is to ignore the gift that life is. Since life here has meaning, having a loved one removed from your life through death is absolutely a cause for sadness.

  • A) I don't believe in an afterlife.
    B) Grief is a healthy response to the fact that you will never be with that person again.
    C) Even IF there were an afterlife, that person is still gone from THIS life.

    Bout cover it?

  • Everyone is different and reacts to things in their own way. It also depends on the situation.
