  • I think I've always just used the one my grandmother taught me, "And this too shall pass". I can't tell you how many times I've said that to myself over the years.

  • 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

  • My grandma, aunts and my mom have always told me when I start to worry "Will what I am worrying about matter in 10 years?" If the answer is no (and it usually is) then stop putting so much energy into it.

  • My Grandma used to say to me "Honey someday you will think back on this and laugh. Just remember this too shall pass." So now when the kids are acting up or I am going thru difficult times I swear I can hear Grandma whispering in my ear that this too shall pass.

  • Matthew 6:25-34 (New International Version)

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

  • This Psalm I find very helpful and uplifting...

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He maketh me to lie in green pastures
He leads me by the still waters
    He restoreth my soul
He lead me in the path of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, Cause Thou art with me,
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
You prepare me a table in the presence of my enemies
You annoint my head, My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever.
