This is really frustrating but we are renting a house and our bathroom constantly has mildew in it. There aren't any windows or exhaust fans in the bathroom. We are constantly cleaning the bathroom every other day and we have tried to leave the doors open. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Aside from cleaning alot the key to keeping mildew down is keeping the room its in cool. It cant grow in a cold environment. You also need to keep the moisture down so maybe buying something that removes moisture like the devices in basements would help. Heres a great article on mildew and how to combat it.

  • Building code says you have to have a vent fan. Check your local codes and board of health and then "enlighten" your landlord.

  • That automatic shower cleaner you use after you get out REALLY works well at keeping the mildew away. Clean the ub really well before you install the auto cleaner and presto. No more cleaning. Just press the button when you get out of the shwer or tub everyday. It really works. Keeps the walls, liner or glass doors sparkling clean. Scrubbing bubbles auto cleaner is the one I use and it WORKS!
