  • What an idiot. As a side question, how does one make money off doing something stupid like this? Getting paid for the interviews, or what?

  • The original story paid her $200 and she made more with every interview including royalties and rights for the pictures.

  • Campbell, who claims her real name is Sheena Upton, told a California court that "The Sun" gave her $200 to pose as "Kerry Campbell" and read a script for the story "I Give My 8-Year-Old Daughter Botox". She says she appeared on the other shows for an additional fee from a talent broker.

ABC also issued a statement saying that they had no idea she was making it all up. But according to TMZ an insider said Upton was paid up to $10,000 from GMA for the licensing of the photos of her daughter.

So she started the hoax? for $200??

  • I can't imagine $200 being worth putting my daughter's face all over the media and putting our family through all that negative attention.

  • Wow! It takes a special woman to lie to the media about abusing her child! Yikes.

Answer by ImaginationMama at 7:28 PM on May. 20, 2011

  • Disgusting! It's right up their with parents who FAKE that their child has inoperable cancer or life-threatening disease to raise money for THEMSELVES!! Ugh.

  • She is nuts. Kind of like "Balloon Boy"--remember the kid's parents who pretended their kid was up in the sky in a ballon basket? People like that should not be parents. Botox mom is a self-involved narcissist.

  • I'm glad this little girl did not receive botox... regardless, either way, she has one messed up mom... really sad.
