  • Cereal at 5ish mos with my first, but I didn't know much back then. Zucchini at 8ish mos with my second, once I knew more about feeding babies.

  • With my son: Gerber 1st foods green beans at 4 months (he WOULD NOT touch rice cereal with a 10-foot pole). The recommendation was 4-6 months then.

With my daughter: Gerber 1st foods peas at 4 months, with doctor/pediatrician approval (she WOULD NOT touch rice cereal with a 10-foot pole either). The recommendation was no solids until 6 months.

  • I start with rice cereal first when he's 4 months, then change to oatmeal 5th month, then in 6 months I start him with organic yellow squash for a wk, then sweet potato, or any kind of stage 1 food. I bought a baby food maker to make it my own.

  • I went to for recipes and food guides on what to start with. I made all my own baby food. The kids liked bananas, sweet pot, and baby cereal as their first foods. I waited until 5 months.

  • My dd started at about 6 mo, tried jarred foods but saw that they constipated her, so started to give her sweet potatoes, avocados, zuccini, and bananas. I saw an immediate change in her BMs. I later introduced pastas, rice, oatmeal, and breads.

  • started cereal @ 4months mixed with breastmilk(very thin consistency) started veggies @5months(avocado mixed with cereal /breastmilk and he LOVED it :)) then we tried pumpkin and sweet potato and made him real gassy so I introduced all the greens first then pears and apples then starchy foods..look for your babies cues to see if theyre ready..if he pushes it out with his tongue try again in a week and so on..such an exciting stage :)
