I was playing a game...

I was playing a game on FB and broke the left click button on my laptop!!! Does anyone know if this can be fixed? It's like it's not clicking anything now. It stays down, but it isn't stuck. Like there's nothing under it to hold it up?

  • IDK... Try taking the key off and cleaning it? It's probably got something spilled on it (like juice or something sticky). Either that, or maybe it just needs to be adjusted. Good luck.

  • Look underneath depending on the computer you will find a white piece that acts as spring and clamp. Put it in its original position.

Another thing is purchasing the whole key set. You can buy it trough the internet. You'll get on the mail.

Also you could take advantage of the warranty and ask if they could repair it.

  • You can also look at other laptops of the same make that died for some other reason and see if you can cannibalize a part...but most likely, the way things are made today, it's not fixable.

  • Try connecting an external mouse for the meantime, they are plug and play devices meaning no software required to install it. We have always used one for our laptop since it just stays at home, and even found a wireless one.
