  • Decieving someone, messing with their feelings, and doing things to trigger certain feelings to manipulate a situation to go your way is wrong. But we are all guilty of it in one form or another. Even when we aren't honest about our kid's age to get a discount on something, it's manipulating. I don't know that it's evil, but it's not right.

  • If you don't mind ... could you give us a few more details? Well, as much as you feel comfortable giving.0

Until then ... my advice ....
If you don't want to do it, then don't. Tell those pushing you to back the hell off and leave you alone.

  • Yes. And it can also be a form of abuse if the manipulator plays on people feelings to changes their current beliefs to what they believe.

  • "marry me, marry me it will be good for you i swear"
    "i dont want to"
    "please, you have to"
'i said, i dont want to"
    "please do it for me"
    "for you? what about me?"
    "just marry me"

so if its good for the manipulatee its not evil
and if its to cause harm to them its not evil?

in this fictitious example the manipulator CLAIMS its for her good, but its all part of his tricks, he doesnt really care about her thoughts on the matter, he just want what he wants so
    doesnt that make it evil?

  • Liz, in the example that you give ... I would call it bad, but not necessarily "evil". I still stand by my original advice ... tell them to back the hell off and leave you alone.
