Has anyone ever written a personal statement for graduate school? i would like some suggestions on what should mention.... my main concern is my GPA it is medicore. i mean i graduated with my bachelors i just wished it was better than what it was.

  • They usually give you some direction on what to write about... what do they say? If it's the "tell us something about you" essay - remember that the schools have an agenda, too. Don't just talk about what you want - tell them why they will be so very glad that they admitted you.

    Regarding your grades, a high GMAT/GRE/Whatever test scores can help to compensate for a mediocre GPA.

  • A agree with everything the previous poster said but would like to add that you want to let the school know your passion for the subject you want to study and how this next step of your education will lead you to your ultimate personal goals. Anyone can major in a subject in college--for graduate school, they want someone who is going to make an impact in the field. Have you done some interesting research or even just have an idea for a thesis or dissertation? Let them know about it and what you want to discover!
