How can you tell the difference between a Troll

and someone who is sincere? I just read a question about something somewhat disturbing and it was suggested she was a Troll. I'm just wondering how you can tell the difference?

  • Any time a question is asked that refers to a child being molested you have got to think... 'why is this person not on the phone with the police or a child psychologist. Why on Earth are they wasting time here.'

  • Oh yeah, totally good point. Now that you mention it, she must be a troll because I tell you what. Someone touches my kid even if it's a relative, they are going down!

  • you can't of course. that's why I don't try and figure it out. I've asked before if the post really happened, but maybe twice I think.

I don't understand why people want to hunt down the 'trolls' The truth is stranger than fiction, and if someone did make up a post, I figure that there's probably someone looking at that post going through something familiar and would probably benefit from seeing the post.

  • "Any time a question is asked that refers to a child being molested you have got to think... 'why is this person not on the phone with the police or a child psychologist. Why on Earth are they wasting time here.' "

because sometimes people are in shock, or afraid to go to the police or child psychologist, and are looking for support while they are about to take that step.
sometimes they want to hear about someone else's experiences.

that certainly doesn't prove that someone is a troll.

what's the point in going and looking trolls anyhow?
