Anyone elses daughter suffer from migraines?

My daughter has been complaining of horrible headaches that make her nauseous and dizzy all week off and on. I figured it was due to her menstrual cycle but I think I am going to call her doc just to make sure. Anyone else have this issue?

  • I have had migraines since starting my mestrual cycle when I was 12. For me it is part stress and part hormones related. They make pills you can take for it, but nothing safe enough for me to try it.

  • hmm yeah I don't like the idea of her being on pills that are not safe. I just remembered though that she has not been eating a lot of meant and the lack of iron in her system can cause it

  • My son had terrible migraines as a child and even vomited when coming home from school. After his teen years, they seemed to leave him. I feel bad for your daugther as they can be extremely paintful.

  • oh man! Yeah that is how she feels. I remember having to deal with them when I was about her age too I think. I read it was pretty common

  • My daughter and I both have hormonal migraines. We can actually track our cycles with them. And we both get auras before we get migraines. Does she track her cycles? My daughter puts her start date in a calendar every month, she also started putting her migraines on her calendar and that's when we found her co-relation between the two. We both found success with imitrex followed by one tablet of naproxen sodium (aleve). (This "cocktail" is the same meds as in treximex)..

  • My daughter had them. Make sure she's drinking plenty and getting enough sleep.
