Have you ever changed your childs name after they were a year or two old?

I'm considering changing my twins middle names. their names are Taden Maximus and Tyler Matthias. theyre latin and together mean "the greatest" "gift from god" but idk i dont like them anymore? :/
and the thing is it just occured to me the other day I could have named them after my brothers! i have three sisters and two brothers and i realyl love my brothers. and i like the way the names sound "taden daniel" and "tyler benjamin"
i wish i had named them after family! i went through family names, my grandpas, and i didnt like the names and my nephew already has my dads name as his middle name.

how much does it cost?
is this a good idea?

have you done it? was it weird? did family think you were nuts? :P

  • I might add the names to their existing names, so they had two middle names, but wouldn't change them all together. I don't know how much it costs.

  • Just my two cents - to me it's weird to change your child's name.

  • If you're going to do it do it now while they are toddlers. Here it would be between $250-$300 each but every state and county differs.

  • Every state is different but its usually around $250 and a release from the biological father. He gets a say too.

  • if you want to change it, then i'd say the sooner the better. i love my son's name (which is why i named him that) and couldnt imagine changing it. but i suppose it would be easier to change their middle names than their first names.

  • No, I haven't changed my kids names. My son wants a middle name now though!
