When can one start excercising after giving birth?

  • When you start feeling better. For me it was 2 or 3 weeks after delivery. If you start bleeding more heavily during/after a work are pushing yourself too far.

  • After your doctor clears you to - there's a reason for that 6 week checkup.

  • I started walking again (as in, for fitness, not just around the house) about 2 weeks after my emergency c-section. I listened to my body and stopped when it told me to. I wouldn't hit the gym until at least 6 weeks post partum, and only with your doc's okay.
