any home remdies to help with the kids when they even have meds? ive tried sitting her in the shower, laying her at a angle,humidifier,and of corse she is taking her meds, and has had a breathing treatment less than an hour ago

she is coughing so hard she pukes, her throat is so sore she wont eat and barely drink. she broke fever a day ago, but i just know she still isnt well.

her doc wants her in the morning, but any help for another sleepless night?
she is 19 months

  • have you tried tylenol? that helps my son a little bit when he has a croupe!

  • oh also taking him outside for some cool air sometimes helps, i wrap him up in a blanket and sit on the steps for a fwe minutes at a time

  • Vick's vapor rub on the bottom of her feet then put socks on!!!! her cough will get better and Popsicles!!!! most kids like them just keep giving them to her at least it may keep her hydrated I also like push ups or sherbet... when the kids have sore throats!!!!

  • we have been trying icecream, pop sickles, ice, cold drinks but she wont take them....:(

  • Sad day, mama! I feel your pain, I've been there. You can put her in the bathroom with the shower on, no fan, let it get all steamed up, then take her outside. Hopefully it's cool where you are. The cold shock helps to break up the mucus in their chest. I'm glad you're taking her back to the doctor tomorrow though. Try a very warm rice pack... not too hot, but the heat will again, loosen that mucus in your baby's chest. GL!

  • Stay away from any dairy - milk, yogurt, ice cream, pudding, etc - it will make the cough worse. Other than that...do you have a comfy rocker/recliner you can sleep in with her laying up on your chest?
