  • My daughter feed every 3 hrs or so for the first 6 weeks, as she was preemie.....she started sleeping through the night at 3.5 months.

  • Fi started sleeping better at 4 months... but growth spurts realy mess up her schedule. She is 7 months now, it's 4:30 am and she is wide awake at my feet playing now (after having a second bottle of the night...). Most of the time she will sleep through, occaisonaly like tonight, she won't. If you nurse it may be up to a year or more before she sleeps through the night and not have night feedings.

  • At about 5 weeks he started sleeping about 4-5 hours, then when I stopped breast feeding he started to sleep longer and we'd only have to get up once to feed, and now at 18 weeks becuase he's on some solid foods, he's started to sleep from 8 or 9ish until 7 or 8ish! It's such a good feeling when your baby sleeps straight through!

  • Mine rarely woke more often than 3 hours, especially at night. All 5 of mine were sleeping 8 hours/night by 2 months.

  • From birth she slept 5 hour stretches, at 5 days and 10 days she slept 8 hours (freaked me out) and by 12 weeks she was sleeping 12 hours through the night. BTW she got BM in a bottle. I don't think that breast feeding vs. formula feeding has anything to do with it.

  • It will happen when it happens. As you can see, there's no set age. Expect this sort of sleeping for a while longer, though.

Mine didn't stretch out sleeps till somewhere around three months, and even then not consistently.

  • My son started sleeping 4 to 5 hours at a time at around 4 months. He is 7 months and wakes up at least once a night for a bottle. He is teething right now and waking about every 2 hours.

  • LMAO! Mine is 10 mo. and STILL wakes at least 2 times a night even when she only eats once a night. There is obviously no set age and when they are that little....they need to eat every 2 hours especially if they are nursing. I have many friends that have used co-sleeping which worked for them and their babies who nursed on demand not really fully waking them up.

It doesn't last forever (I'm told) so hang in there. But, as a rule, I think you can pretty much kiss sleep as you once knew it goodbye, LOL ;) It is very lucky people who have babies that actually sleep. Mine is totally a high needs baby so it seems she never sleeps and is very demanding so letting her cry won't work either (I have a problem with this anyways).
