Running a slight fever

My son woke up this morning very warm to the touch. Mind you it has been muggy and warm so I have only been letting him run around in a diaper or a pull up (going through potty training). I just took his temp a few minutes ago and it is running 99.0 should I be worried about it?

  • he could be teething, give him a little Tylenol and see how he's doing this afternoon. GL

  • 99.0 is NOT a fever... not until it's over 100... we all have fluctuations in our body temp periodically

  • Don't worry about it. As long as he is acting normal, eating , and drinking I'd say he is probably just warm from the weather.

  • He could just be a bit warm due to the weather, I would keep an eye on it and if it does go higher then give meds. You could give him a bath or let him splash in the tub for a while, that might cool him down a bit. Also keep him hydrated with plenty of fluids, or maybe give him a popsicle or 2?

  • I wouldnt worry. Is he acting fine? 99 isnt high at all. When my daughter is slightly off she doesnt eat well either. Just keep an eye on him and keep him hydrated...

  • Still running hot but we finally found out why he is running such a high fever. The highest was 102.6 at the doctor's office this morning, no strep nor the flu it is another ear infection just in his right ear. Pushing fluids, tylenol and his second round of antibiotics.
