Do you buy Harold Camping's apology?

An apology note, supposedly written by Camping is posted on YouTube here:

He blames satan for practically all of it, saying he was deceived along with everyone else. The upside of christianity seems to be that you don't have to take the blame for your own screw-ups. Either god did it. Or satan did. He also writes that he will resign from the ministry. Should he resign? Do you think he will learn from this colossal debacle and stop making doomsday predictions (his last was in 1994. The world didn't end then either)?

  • Why did he need all that money if he was going to be raptured anyway???

Answer by 2autisticsmom at 2:03 PM on May. 23, 2011

  • well i dont have to buy his apology b/c he didnt do anything to me. i think if he were to give back the money to those that did believe him, they would be more apt to forgive him. if this really is his apology (which i kinda doubt unless its on his own webpage) then i guess he is retiring, but that doesnt change anything for me...i really dont care what he does.

  • I think satan can tempt, but people are powerful enough to choose whether or not to follow a temptation...

I don't follow "the devil made me do it" excuse.

  • Buy it? No, I accept the fact that we all make mistakes. He's human just like you and I.
