i just read a quesiton and it mentioned this and idk what it means sorry if its a stupid question.

what does a "positive evaporation line" mean?

  • An evaporation line is when, after taking a test, you look at it later (an hour or so) and it has a faint positive line. That line is the evap line, and is the reason that you are not supposed to even look at the test after the designated time period, because people think that they are pregnant due to it.

  • nothing :) it means they waited too long to read their test or looked at it much later.

    a line appears after all the pee evaporates. it's meaningless other than saying "too late on reading this one"

  • oh so is it also kinda like when i took my test, and it came up positive, a few hours later it faded and was negative? but the opposite???

  • Evaporation lines, as the name suggests are caused due to evaporation of the urine in then test area. These are lines that shows in the result window of the test, exactly where a positive sign would be. An evaporation line develops when the urine on the test area begins to dry, leaving a faint, usually colorless line. Evaporation lines appear to show up (or not show up) as a result of the composition of the particular urine specimen - and they may appear on any test regardless of brand.
