What sunscreen (and what strength) do you use for your children ?

I wanted to know what do you mommies recommend as sunscreen and what strength (my son is 5 year old).

I'm not sure witch one will be the most effective to protect my son's skin.
That is why I need your advice.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

  • I try different ones, I like Ombrelle. Spf 60. SOme people will tell you that "anything over 30 isnt any more effective" but dont listen, My kids burn with just a 30, and do not with a 60, so there is a difference. Re apply often!

  • When my kids actually where it (which isn't all the time) we use the spray on kind (generic/store brand) and the stuf we have now is SPF 70 probably because it was on sale. Usually I get SPF 50.
The only time they ever put it on is if it's really, really sunny and hot.

  • More research came out and its showing they are actually linking Sunscreen to cancers ( what isn't these days ) so I am opting to buy the natural chemical free California Baby for my family - Problem is.. for about 8oz bottle its $18.59... But I feel the extra cost is worth it.

  • We go for anything over 40 SPF. I like the Banana Boat kids/baby, it's really thick so you know you are getting them really good.
