Why are my cookies always hard on the bottom?!

I usually set my oven to 325 if it says 350-and when it says 15-20 mins, I always do 15. but then the top of the cookie is soft-but bottom is hard and the chocolate chips burn..wth?!

  • I bought a cookie stone from Pampered Chef (kinda pricey but way worth it!) and I have never had anything but perfect cookies! Use the correct temp and take them out 3-5 mins early so they finish cooking in the room temp air. I also bought a stone for my meat (chicken, pork etc) and it cooks everything perfectly too!

  • Get an oven thermometer. It sounds like your oven is way off.

  • Is it a dark pan? Get a light pan, a stainless steel, not a non-stick - I can make awesome cookies on my (new & old) shiny silver pans, but the same cookies come out awful if I use my non-stick pans. Also try using parchment paper.
