  • it isn't really if they are to young or is if they are ready! my daughter was 2 before she had even any intrest in the potty and now almost 3 we are done! it is just when she is ready

  • well i ' think shes too young to introduce her to it & have her start to go to the restroom with you & maybe buy the potty training seat for her. but, i wouldn't expect it to be a success until about 2 & a half. maybe you could also start checking out books for her about it & start talking about it with her. i think about 2 & a half when her vocab has grown more she may start vocalizing her ?s about it. some moms  had panties they put dd in so they could feel it if they had an accident, & gave stickers for trying at first & then for successes & by the end of the week maybe 2 it was done, but possibly still put on protection at night. .

  • Don't go by age... go by readiness. Can she pull her own pants down? Will she sit on the potty for longer than 20 seconds? Does she tell you when she's wet or dirty? My suggestion is to buy a potty chair, and let her practice sitting on it (clothes ON) while you're going pee (or poo if you don't mind). Eventually when she shows you that she's ready, she'll know where to go & it will be a lot easier for you to train her. For now, work on getting her to dress & undress herself, brushing her own teeth, and other hygiene things.

  • It's not an "age" - it's a ready-or-not thing. A few, rare kids are ready at 18 months. Most aren't ready until after 2 years old. Half of all kids are ready by 2.5 years - that means that the OTHER half aren't ready until AFTER 2.5 years.

Get a good potty training book. It will have a list of "readiness signs" and some ideas of things to do to get ready if she's not ready for actual training yet.
