  • For hundreds of years women drank ale and mead and wine while pregnant. Did they drink it to get drunk? No. They drank it with their meals because that's what there was to drink. Somehow the human race survived.
Personally I allowed myself two glasses per week but one per day wouldn't hurt.

  • I was very cautious with my first pregnancy, but relaxed a little with my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. But then I didn't touch alcohol with my 6th, as I had gestational diabetes and because of my age etc, the doctor considered it a kinda higher risk pregnancy, so I didn't want to jeapordize things. :)

  • No, I don't understand women who do. There's plenty of stuff that is off limits while you're pregnant that the majority agrees you should stay away from, plenty of things that taste good that you can't have and for the women who say they drink a glass to unwind...I don't get that either because if you need to "unwind" while you're pregnant what are you going to do when you have an infant to take care of?
