Question just sparked....What type of healthcare do you have?

We have a mix of healthcare here.
My SO has blue Cross
I have Kaiser
My son has both.

Do you like your health care?
My SO's? no, our emergency care plan is too expensive IMO
Mine? Yes, everything I need is basically taken care of
My Son? Well he's covered all around so no complaints

  • I live in Canada so we have Universal Health Care.. We have separate private insurance for prescribed drugs, dental and vision care on a co-pay system but all doctors, hospitalisation ,surgery and prescribed medical tests are free .

  • We have Blue Cross Blue Shield. We have been happy with it so far but I am bummed because my primary isn't contracted with them. I like her a lot!

  • i have cigna. i like it better than bc/bs because i don't have to pay a co-pay at the office. they just bill for my portion. i don't know what works out better in the end, but it helps not to have to shell out so much for co-pay when i take the kids to the dr.

  • I have Cigna for my son and I, but we do not use it. Just for the yearly checkups and we have Delta Dental and use that twice a year for cleanings.
I pay over $100/month and its not being used. :(
I could not afford the family plan, so dh does not have health insurance cause he cannot afford it at his job, and only pays for the dental coverage.

  • We have United Healthcare. We haven't really had a problem with it in the 9 years we've been on it. Prescriptions aren't the best but a discount is better than paying full price (especially on a normally $800 emergency med for my kid with epilepsy.) Yearly physicals are now free due to a company wide initiative to get everyone healthier.

  • Mine is pretty dang good - I'm not sure of the specifics or anything, and it's expensive, but they cover everything for me. They were awesome when I had my kids on it too - but it got too expensive and my kids are all on only medicaid now - not ideal, but they get what they need. DH's is different than mine, and his sucks - again, I'm not sure of the details, but it's really screwy. It will only be worth it if he lands in the hospital for a while.
