What gives you the motivation to get things done besides having or wanting to do it for your children? Do you have any vices?

  • I talk myself into doing just 3 things, it gets me going and once I start, I just keep going and get much more done....

  • I make lists...Usually stress makes me get things done.
    But when I need a break..I exercise...like run...yoga.

  • This might sound a tad corny, especially since i'm not a mediator or anything, but i have this book. It's called Mindful Movements: Ten Exercises for Well-Being by Thich Nhat Hanh. It's a small book that kind of almost looks like a childrens book judging by the cover, that's written by a Vietnamese Buddhist "Zen Master". The illustrations are done by a woman who has practiced with him as well. I recommend this to anyone, male or female, big or small, who's ever had that feeling of "UGH!". lol

  • I tackle one thing at a time and focus only on that one thing until it's done. Then I move on to something else and repeat until I'm done.

  • What about long term goals like finishing college as a single parent with no help. How do I keep going when I am so stressed all the time. How do you distress when you have little to no time to yourself.
