Anyone ever heard of allergy shots on a toddler?

A pediatric allergist recommended weekly allergy shots for my nephew who is 20 months old. No severe on going allergies. Just a severe reaction to ants one time.

  • Weird, I guess.

My 5 year old's allergist doesn't recommend shots for that young. Shoot, he won't give her allergy shots now.

  • That is what I thought. I just think that is a lot of trauma for such a young kiddo.

  • I'm heard of it, and it's horrid! Doctors will do anything to push meds now a days... Unless your child has life threatening allergies there is NEVER a reason to consider an allergy shot.
