  • DD is only 18 months so we've not gone down this road yet. Neither DH or I are really into any sports, though I don't mind soccer or basketball. We both really want her to take ballet lessons but if she wants to play sports, we'll do it-- I'll be the one taking her, though!

  • My husband can't wait until our son is old enough to play football but right now he shows no interest in sports! But he's only almost 3.

  • My son will be 9 next month. My DD is 6 1/2. They've been involved in various things throughout the years and we always let them dictate what (within reason.)

At 4 my son played soccer. From 5 to 7 (into his 8th birthday) he played baseball. This year he started karate in September and opted to skip baseball in order to stick with his karate class. Baseball games overlapped with his class. He's also taken chess classes and is a cub scout.

My daughter took dance classes at 3. She hated it. We did a trial gymnastics class at 4 and she's been with it ever since. She's wrapping up her 3rd year. She's also a Girl Scout and takes art classes in the summer.

  • I already hqve a spot reserved on a non-school cheer squad for my DD when she turns 3. I like it better than a dance class because she'll learn that and gymnastics, and cheer.
