Do you think the White House should be 'so' concerned about Obama's "online presence"?

The White House has named ,partisan blogger, Jesse Lee to a new position within its communications department:

Director of Progressive Media & Online Response.

According to The Huffington Post, Lee will essentially be responsible for building up Obama’s online presence as he prepares for his reelection bid, and squashing any negative stories...

"The post is a new one for this White House. Rapid response has usually been outsourced to the Democratic National Committee (DNC), if not done on an ad-hoc basis by administration officials. And it signals that the White House will be adopting a more aggressive defense of the president and his policies as his re-election campaign gears up."

Do you think his actions paint a pretty clear picture of him and people are entitled to their opinion of him?  Do you at least give Obama points for his transparency in being THIS partisan with White House positions?

  • Obama's campaign should be concerned with it. Taxpayers should not be paying the person who's keeping tabs on it.

  • I don't care what his campaign does as long as it is legal and doesn't infringe on the rights of others. I do care if taxpayers are paying for someone to silence those who disagree with obama.

This was the first thing that popped into my head as well. Time to create an uproar.

  • Like for instance the woman in the video about getting her mortgage paid for. IMO-she had a core belief that someone somewhere owed her something. And Obama played on those thoughts and beliefs by saying things like-fundamentally transform the Nation, you can't do it on your own, and wealth distribution. Subconsciously she heard those speeches and thought " hell ya, I need money from the rich"
Well, she's probably not worrying about her mortgage now because she's foreclosed on and doubtful of what Obama has to say. and here comes Jesse to explain to her why what Obama said really means this or that and will give a false explanation or meaning. You saw one person here say things about typical voters and now the young ones are online and on facebook-Where the information can be managed and changed to affect their minds Directly.

  • He should be more worried about doing his job instead of traveling and scolding other countries. He is trying to take the focus off of himself by finding other people to demonize. Typical.

  • Daily, it's getting harder and harder for Obama and others to defend him or be on the defense for him. I think that is clear simply by what we see on CM here, the liberals even the dirtiest fighters no longer defend him. Hell, one of them was considering Ron Paul 2 weeks ago. Anyway, if the information is managed or rearranged constructively, the constant defending of Obama will be minimized. And I would assume that is just part of the re election campaign. Obama is going to have to be put into a whole new box for 2012 even if that means changing his words and putting opposing thoughts into readers heads. When obama campaigned in 08 he was a master at insinuating or reinforcing the beliefs that his supporters already held. Reaffirming core beliefs subconsciously if you will. Now, they will be actively altering persons memories and beliefs about him. Creating a new man if you will. JMHO

  • Just more editing, distortion of facts, telling us what PBO meant to say, what we should have gotten from the mumbo-jumbo, and making him look appealing to the younger voter. I damn sure home that young doesn't mean 'can be lead around by the ring in their noses', because w need people who can think for themselves voting this time.
