I want to breastfeed her

but shes on a special formula to help her gain weight and i dont even know if she would latch on shes 4 weeks now i dont even know if i have any milk left

  • Yes, you have milk! It is soooo easy to bring your supply back up. Even women who have NEVER had a baby can breastfeed!

    There is ~NO~ substitute for human milk, breast milk will supply her with *everything* she needs. Formula simply can not.

  • If you can squeeze and get even a drop, you still have milk. You can restore your supply, but she will probably need to be at the breast a lot, and to speed it along you could use a pump in between. Babies are born knowing how to breastfeed...it will just take a little practice for you two.

  • Start by offering the breast and see if she will latch. If she does, nurse as often as possible, for as long as possible to stimulate your supply. Get in touch with your local LLL too, and come back here, let us know if she latched when offered.

  • i would suggest to try its really good for the baby...i did for 2 months but then had to stop and just give her formula if you have the chance why not just give it a shot..=) good luck to you momma
