  • I've been told that by the way I say certain words people can tell I'm from the south.

  • I've fought my entire life not to speak "localese". My parents are from upstate NY, I was born in NJ and raised in the dirty south. No one down here can pin where I am from, everyone up there says I have a *slight* accent. Guess I've not done so bad after all. I'd prefer that my first impression does not scream of ignorant hick.

  • Good question... am told many wanna be newscasters are sent to WY, CO, MT, and UT to "get rid of" their accents. That being said and being from WY, I guess I do not have an accent...

  • I'm sure I do, doesn't mean I notice it, but I'm sure others do.
