My daughter has been pulling on her ear for a week, is it an ear infection?

on thursday she woke up from a nap with a fever of 101. she wont eat much, even today. i geve her a half dose of baby tylenol and her fever went down and she seemed fine. that night she had a fever of 102.4. i gave her baby tylenol and kept an eye on her. she woke up the next morning with a pinkish eye and it slowing started to have eye boogers coming from it and she rubbed it alot. i wanted to take her to the doctor but the ppl i live with said its just an eye cold and our kids had it and you just put drops in and itll b fine. i gave her regular saline eye drops and it went away. had a fever for another day andnow she has had a deep cough for two days and is very tired. and shes been pulling at her ear since last wednesday. im not sure whats goin on but im making a doctor appt for tomorrow, any ideas before then?

  • Honey, better be safe then sorry. Glad your taking her in. Next time listen to your gut. NO ONE know's your child like you do. Generally if a infant is running a fever and pulling on there ears its an infection and needs immediate attention. Gooby eyes should also be checked if they arent cleared up in a day.

  • It COULD be an ear infection. It could also be teething. Next time I'd tell your housemates to mind their business and listen to your Mommy Instincts. We as moms DO NOT give ourselves enough credit for knowing what's going on.
