P.E. battle

My 14 year old daughter will start highschool this fall and she refuses to take p.e.! i have tried to tell her to just get it over with and then she can enjoy the rest of the time. She is required to have 2 credits of it to graduate. How do I convince her that she will have to take it sooner or later?

  • She is overweight and is more the studious type and not the athletic.

  • She will figure that out for herself. It makes sense what you are saying but there is really no harm in waiting a year to take it. She will want to graduate and will take it. Just in her own time I am guessing.

  • Summer hasn't even officially started yet... Around August, start talking to her about it again. I'm sure most of her friends will be taking it now to get it over with, and she'll likely join them.

  • Get her on an exercise routine over the summer so she can slim down/shape up and feel better about herself for the Fall

  • just talk to her about the situation and comfort her....tell her it is something that every stupid has to deal with and the sooner she takes care of it the less she has to worry about it.....

  • Double check that each year is a credit. In my high school PE was only 1/2 a credit so you were required to take it all 4 years!

  • Would it be too bad to wait until she has made some friends in school? Then they could Sign up for the same class together. There is emotional safety in numbers.
