Should we really be joking?

This is just one story of the fallout from Campings "prediction" . So should we be joking about it. There are people out there that are taking this to heart. Not just Christians who believe in " The Rapture" but also those who have never really stepped foot in a church or  even read the bible, or any true association with Christ's followers and his teachings. I'm not talking about  the whacked out fundies that believe everything spoon fed to them, that believe the earth is only a few 1000 years old, that only a precious few are saved or the once saved always saved crowd. I'm talking about the ones who know that all have a chance of salvation at some point. That believe in God's mercy for all, at some point for we don't know the heart of those who are dying at that exact time, and place.

  • It's called brainwashing.  It's powerful and effective and religion is very adept at it.

  • Sad that she took it to heart & believed it. If its not one idiot wailing about one thing then there will be another out there wailing about another thing. We cant help it if others take it to heart & decide to act on that.

  • Harold Camping or not, the truth is some major things are happening in this world that are being pushed under the mainstream media rug. If you are not paying attention look at the wars currently happening in the Middle East. Some are saying Libya doesn't even have rebels fighting anymore and that Al Qaeda is fighting with those rebels. Those same "rebels" Obama just invited to the White House yesterday.

Look at Fukushima. If you didn't know, it's gone into an uncontrolled state that any point could literally destroy our entire atmosphere. Why is no one talking about that? You can actually get information from UC Berkeley's website that spends time researching the amount of radiation we have in U.S. Obama is prancing around and telling others nations what to do when America is on the verge of an economic collapse. That's a sign in itself that we could shortly become the next Roman Empire. Harold is crazy, but he has a point!

  • I think Campings should have some sort of punishment. To have your own believes is one thing to scare people into thinking something awful is true is another thing. However, free speech & he wont get punished. On the other hand these people shouldnt have been dumb (maybe not the 14yo but adults at least) & believed this shit anyway.
