Need a good recipe

I need a good recipe for crockpot meatballs. I'm planning on using frozen meatballs, so I'm just looking for a good sauce.

  • I make these they are good.
    3 pounds frozen meatballs
2 medium onions, cut in wedges
    1 bottle beer, 12 ounces
    1 1/2 cups ketchup
    2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1/4 cup brown sugar
Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 8 to 12 hours.
About 96 meatballs, but this recipe is easy to cut in half. Also, you can use your own homemade meatballs, first browned in oven or skillet.

  • I know a lot of people swear by grape jelly and chili sauce...but that was never sounding too good to me! lol
My SIL makes them with a 50:50 mix of bbq and sweet n sour sauces.

Me, I make Swedish meatballs..but I make them in a pan and then keep them in the crock pot to stay hot during a party.

  • Don't laugh but I use the Italian Armour frozen meatballs with a can or two or Hunts Spaghetti Sauce. Cook them on low for a couple hours and they come out awesome. Great as an appetizer and any leftovers make great meatball subs

  • i love frozen meatballs. youd be surprised how good grape jelly can be on them, but its an odd taste haha. i like spagetti sauce & BBQ sauce works good too, but my favorite is brown gravy. just buy a few packets of gravy, mix them up per the directions & pour them over the meatballs. i use to take this to work potlucks ALL the time & it was always a hit
