Look up "calico beans" on allrecipes.com - the best! I'm not a big recipe follower though - from all those, I've come up with this. Brown 1/2 lb ground beef, drain. In the same pain, cook 1 lb bacon, cut into small peices first, leave a little of the fat in when you drain. Chop an onion & a couple of celery stalks and cook in the little bit of bacon grease. Add all to the crock pot with about 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2-1 cup ketchup. Drain 1 can each of black beans, kidney beans, butter beans, lima beans, and any other beans you want (I usually have about 6 different kinds) and add to crock pot. Add 1-2 cans baked or pork & beans (I like original bush's for this). Mix it all well and let it go. Fills my 6pt crock pot full.
