I want to....

Color and permy my hair. How long do I have to wait between the two and does it matter if i color then perm or perm then color, if that makes any sense.

  • Just a warning, be sure you always get a professional to do this. The results of a home perm can kill a social life. Seriously.

  • You'll want to perm first.
I think they say wait 4 weeks after perm to color.... but I'm not positive.

  • if your hair is otherwise healthy and in good condition, you can color it as soon as 1-2wks later, using permanent-color. using semi-permanent, you can do it sooner. however, be aware that semi usually goes on darker anyway, and with a fresh chemical-alteration to the hair, it may 'take' even darker.
good bet is to normal-condition for 2wks, then color. oh and conditioner may relax the perm, too. *shrugs*
best bet is to choose one chemical service only..and leave it at that.
