Why do toasters always have a setting on them which burns your toast to a horrible crisp no one would eat?

  • Seriously, my dad keeps his toaster on DARK all the time! Whenever I visit, I have to check it every time I make toast and them remember to put it back when I'm done or my dad gets annoyed. I have heard that charcoal is good for cleaning your teeth, though ~ maybe that's why he likes it. He told me one time he used to eat the soft tar from the city streets when he was a kid like it was chewing gum! EWWW!!
