U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood unveiled new fuel-economy window stickers for cars and trucks, saying "we're not just sitting around waiting for high gasoline prices to come down." His ride of choice to the unveiling: This 12-mpg Chevy Suburban SUV.

    Should the government buy all officials a new car that has better fuel economy? Seems like conservitaves would probably whine about that quite a bit.

    LOL!  I love it!  They have been buying these vehicles for years and will probably continue to do so..despite telling all of us what we should be driving.  Why is that?  LOL  Aw, let'em eat cake!

    They already are.

    Yep, by 2015 the gov't will only be allowed to buy alternative fuel vehicles for the light duty federal fleet.

  • Considering the government wants me to buy a few efficient vehicle for my family of 8 with my I don't have, then YES they should be buying fuel efficient vehicles for themselves. Idiots.

    You would think that in transporting your family around that you would earn CARPOOL "credit!!" Less cars on the road and all that jazz!! :o)
