My husband cooked a "baked" chicken and oil splattered EVERYWHERE!! What are some good homemade ways to clean your oven?

  • Mine is self cleaning but my mom used baking soda as a scrub growing up.

  • Oh beats me. I find the chemically stuff and stink up the kitchen with that. The blue can oven cleaner works wonders.

  • salt on the mess as soon as you find it. Let it sit, then wipe up and scrub with SOS pads.

  • vinegar and water are natural homemade remedies, you want to let it sit. Ours gets tough to clean so I use oven cleaner but if yours is self cleaning dont use stuff b/c it will eat the cleaning liner

  • I learned in chemistry that like dissolves like. You may want to try some cooking oil on it and let it soak in. Come back later and see if scrubbing with salt will help.

  • Find something that fights grease. My oven is self cleaning, so all I have to do after it cleans is wipe it out. Greased lightning is good.
