  • I use or wear them because I never want to hurt anyone's feelings. If i know I'm going to see the person who gave me something, I will wear it just so they can see it on me. If the person is coming to my home, I will set out whatever knick-knack just so they can see that I appreciated it enough to use it. A gift is to be appreciated for the thoughtfulness of the one who gave it and not just for whatever it is. It really is the thought that counts.

  • Donate them to charity in most cases. One Christmas, though, my MIL gave me an old sweater out of her closet shoved in an old gift bag she hadn't thrown out. That I threw out.
