  • One of the EC students that I teach took the End of Grade test this week. In NC, you have to score a 3 to pass your grade. She scored a 3 on math and reading. The 8th grade took the EOG in science and 91% of the 8th grade scored a 3 or 4. Hot damn! This is such a big deal because I teach at the school in the county that everyone thinks is doomed to low scores. It is 98% minority, 99% free/reduced lunch and has little parent support. Those kids hit a 'high fly ball over the left field wall'!!!! Now, if we can just do it with the rest of the school and the remaining EOG tests. Wouldn't that just be the icing on the cake!
