Cooking little hams

I'm making little hams that are like chickens and I have no idea how to tell when they're done. The package said to cook them for an hour, but my oven cooks things really weird. Does anyone know how to tell?

  • Or if they start falling apart - then you know for dang sure they're done!

  • Are they precooked hams? If so, you only need to heat them through. The package should tell you a temp to cook them to. I've never cooked a little bitty ham, though.

  • you mean cornish game HENS? I've never heard of little hams, and "little chickens" are cgh. Test the temp same as a chicken - thickest part of the thigh without touching the bone. I usually slow roast them for 2-3 hours.
