Can babies under 12 months drink soy milk?

Just wondering! :)

  • Sure! As long as they are over 6 months (I probably wouldn't introduce it as a first food), and as long as this is not replacing breastmilk or formula. They can eat tofu and edamame, too! You might want to talk to your pediatrician about how much is okay. I can't remember the guidelines for how much juice/etc. they can get in a day... I think it was somewhere around less than 3-4 ounces.

  • I've given my 10 mo old twins some to start transitioning them as we don't drink cow's milk. I don't know of any reasons why not as long as it isn't the primary source of nutrition.
